I was looking to find an LCD HDTV that was a good value, as I didn’t want to spend too much. This Samsung model fit the bill perfectly. I’ve had it a few months and it works great rendering video streamed from the Internet, Hulu, Netflix, etc. When I first connected the Mac Mini to it, the HDTV read “Adjusting…” and the picture came back and filled the screen completely with no edge lines, etc. Very nice! The speakers aren’t great on the TV, but there is an output to hook up external speakers if desired. Also, there are plenty of input options to cover most everything one might need. I do not regret this purchase and would recommend this product to others.

The item was offered as model #LN32A450 which is the model I wanted. The model delivered was #LN32A455 which is the REFURBISHED version of the model advertised. EBAY should insist that refurbished equipment be clearly indicated in the posting and that the true model number to be delivered be indicated, thus alerting the buyer that “something’s different.”
The product works well. I only hope it lasts.

I’ll admit, I’m a big Sony devotee and usually love their products - but - I bought a 32″ Sony Bravia at Sam’s Club a couple of months ago and was quite disappointed. Even after a thorough tweaking - the colors were dark and muddy and the definition was middling. My Sony had a prolonged start up time and a painfully slow response to the remote - which seem to be common complaints. After about a month, the Sony started acting weird and would freeze up on certain channels - requiring shutdown and repeat power up. Understandably, the Sony went back to Sam’s for a refund.
At that point, I was disenchanted with HDTV and went back to watching our old CRT TV. My wife finally prodded me into shopping for a replacement. Sony was no longer in the running but I had read good reviews for Samsung and found the LN32A450 on sale at HH Gregg for well under $500! I compared it side-by-side to other 32″ HDTV’s in the store and found its performance as good as most and better than many costing several hundred dollars more. Colors were vibrant and definition was very good. Set up out of the box was easy and performance, so far, has been great. My only complaint: the remote is a bit big and cumbersome. Although I’ve had it less than a month - I’m impressed and would definitely pick it over similarly equipped HDTV’s - including Sony……

Google “Samsung Customer Service reviews” before you buy any Samsung USA product. If you have to deal with them you’ll wish you’d bought another brand. Feeling lucky?

When I got this item I was very impressed with the picture quality, but then after six months the picture started going out for a few minutes now and then. It would recover on its own, but then it went out for good. So I looked online and found that Samsung TV’s have this problem quite a bit and good luck getting service. So I tried setting up service online but there online support center doesn’t work for much of anything other than downloading user manuals. Other functionality ends up in a loop or with nothing. So I called their service department just now, and based on what people have reported I don’t expect to get speedy service or maybe any service, but even if they fixed this tomorrow there is no excuse for a TV to go bad after 6 months of light usage. My other TV’s are 15-20 years old and have had no problem ever.

I recently purchased this TV on sale for $488, and for this price, this TV is a bargain. The picture is clear even at 720p, with vibrant colors, reasonable (though not perfect) black levels and the variety of preprogrammed settings is easy to access, making simple work of changing between settings for movies, TV, and sports. The 6ms response time prevents much of the blurring in sports, though there is still the occasional ghost. The sound quality is clear, although the placement of the speakers does some muffling of the sound. I especially like the three HDMI ports, which may be useful as I update to more HD equipment. The remote is more responsive than previous versions, but it can’t be used with non-samsung products. That being said, the TV linked well to my CEC enabled Philips Progressive Scan DVD Player w/ 1080i Upconversion, DVP3962/37 synced with the TV painlessly. It does not have the highest tech features, but what it does have works very well. For the price, I have not been disappointed.

We love this TV for the most part, the picture is excellent. There is one problem we are still trying to work out with it. I have my xbox 360 connected to the tv using component (rgb) and have noticed that the tv will cut out to a black screen in the middle of playing a game for about 1 second and then come back with the info box in the corner as if the input got unplugged and plugged back in. I’ve tried using the component connections on the side of the tv, but the problem persists. I have also tried a different cable all together with no luck. I called sharp about the issue and they suggested updating the software, but the software they had available for download was an older version than the one already on the tv. So far I haven’t noticed the problem with any other source. I am fairly certain that it is not my Xbox 360, because I do not have this issue with any other tv that I hook it up to with the same configuration. I plan on contacting Sharp again to see if they can come up with a solution.

Finally the wife agreed to replace the CRT TV! My only constraint was that the new TV had to fit into the present cabinet (The new set had to be less than 25 inches tall). I was leaning toward the Sharp anyway, I liked its picture quality in the store, and the frame around the actual screen was smaller than most. The 37 inch set was just the correct height. I also wanted 1080p so the TV could support future upgrades, and QAM, so we could watch non premium digital cable. The only assembly required was installing the base, and an allen wrench was thoughtfully included. The manual was clear, and channel setup was straight forward. The picture quality is remarkable, especially when switching between the analog and digital signal of the same TV station. The TV is a little slow changing channels, but only compared to the old CRT set. Sound is good too. My only regret is not buying a larger cabinet for the old TV …

The Sharp 37″ Aquos 1080p has a great picture. The sound quality of this 37 inch tv is not that good. Rather tinny with little base. The picture quality is great at 1080p. The remote is a bit complicated so I use the Comcast remote and it has worked out fine. I bought this set due to the size limits of my tv cabinet. Most 37″ sets are wider than the 36″ opening of my cabinet. This Sharp is only 35.5″ wide. Just fits in. I believe that this set has been discontinued but I would recommend it to anyone who may find one for sale out there.

The Sharp LCD TV I bought is a fantastic piece of equipment and the result of very good engineering. I particularly am impressed with the sharpness of the picture and the surround sound quality. I would definitely recommend this as a GREAT BUY.
10 Jeffers
The Sharp Aquos LC37D64U exceeds all of my expectations in picture, sound and price. The unit was shipped immediately from Electronic Express upon ordering and arrived promptly at my house via FedEx. Even the FedEx driver was impressed with the speed of shipment and perfect condition of the box. In a nutshell, the hi-def picture - from over-the-air broadcasts to DVDs is jaw-droppingly good. As far as I’m concerned, it has been a very long time since either an electronic device OR an online retailer lived up to the hype but in this case Sharp, Electronic Express and Amazon have truly delivered the goods. Highest recommendations to all.

Liked the price and the no sales tax, no shipping charges and very happy with the product. It does hesitate before bringing up the HD picture and I don’t know if that’s due to the TV or Comcast. Delivery and set-up was excellent. Would buy again from Amazon.

great deal, great TV , great price, delivered fast -cant ask for more than that!

Great Picture, great value, somewhat slow channel reception, but from my experience, that’s Sharp in general. Overall: very pleased with the purchase.

I just received and set up this TV. It has only turned on once (by the grace of God). It will not power up currently through any remote or the TV itself. This is the 2nd review saying the same thing within 3 days. DO NOT BE ANOTHER SUCKER LIKE US!

This is a great product. I got a excellent price value. I have had this item for 7 months with no problem at all.

This Samsung 37″ HDTV was purchased for the bedroom. After having purchased a Samsung 46″ model A650 I signed up for Direct TV satellite but could not get the same programs (HD) on my old bedroom set. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money so I started tracking Amazons listings. Long story short. it’s everything I wanted in a second set. The picture is perfect, the price was right with no tax or shipping charge. Excellent clarity. Love this set. I also have a 21″ Samsung computer monitor.
