I bought this for my bedroom. It’s nice and compact. The sound is good. You have a few choices on the type of sound you want. The picture is excellent. You can also tip the screen up or down depending on the angle you want.
My only beef is, when you turn it on, it takes about 2 extra seconds to realize its on. the red light turns to green. It makes you think you missed the button. No big deal really.
I love it.

Brought this through the analog to digital conversion, and aside from rescanning a few times, it works great. As other reviews indicated, the enclosed antenna is inadequate for a few reasons, but since I had a couple of extra antennae from the purchase of my large TV, I tried them both. Oddly enough, in my market (NYC), the unpowered antenna works better.
For me the best thing is that it runs on 18 watts, versus the 100 watts the big TV runs on.
Nice size, nice picture, good audio volume. Let’s hope it lasts….

I bought one of these for $99.00 on sale at my local Target store. I really liked the TV, but tried several times to scan for my local stations (Cincinnati) and could only get 4 channels. That would have been fine, but there was so much “snow” you couldn’t make out a picture! I kept it long enough to try it after the digital switch. Rescaned again and it was worse then because if it won’t pull in the channel you get a blue screen which is all I got! I could have added a better anntenna, but that defeats the purpose of a portable TV. I had to return it. Let me know if there is a good small TV out there, I’m still looking.

I was disappointed - I couldn’t receive any stations with the small antenna. I bought it for my boat and have a Shakespear analog/digital antenna - I was delighted, I got 20 clear stations. I live 55 miles from Boston and 45 miles from Providence. Wonderful by the price, but you need to be close to stations or have a good antenna.

Well…our local TV station posted several links of various portable bat op TVs we could possibly buy to have here in strong storm and hurricane land. Now I can tell you I already miss my battery op. anolog 8 D batteries, little NOW VINTAGE TV-batteries die, just put in more! I dont have a converter box, I live rather rural, tho Im near a major city (TAMPA) they still wont bring cable/dsl/fios to us rural folk out here in Plant City-there is some, but its mostly around the city and for people who live close to the road. So were stuck with satilitte TV-which isnt bad, but there is LOTS of RAIN n CLOUD fade and when it goes out it can stay out for 30 min-to 2 hours-not good during severe weather. So even tho I have a generator that will run my TV n sat box…I would still have no picture during bad storms. ANd I have a weather radio…but I like seeing radar and that’s a big drain on your laptop when your stuck with a 5GB wifi card becasue there is no high speed out here and dial up wont allow you to load radar intensive pages. I needed an alternative. I was skeptical ordering one of these considering where I live, I figured Id be one of those people who would be lucky to get one station. Im in the middle of a cow pasture. I tried to look up my location on AtennaWeb, no luck. So I took a chance. Well it arrived, after reading the other review (Fantastic) I quickly realized I could figure this out without even looking at the directions. I screwed in the antenna it came with and it wouldnt stay tight…unless you propped it up against a wall. Not good. Couldnt get ANY channels. Figured right, considering I live in no where ville in the middle of a cow pasture I expected this. Started to pout. Went and got the REAL rabbit ears, screwed them in…walked outside next to a cow and rescanned. Got 1 channel. Rescanned 2 more times. Now Im happy to report I have 26 PLUS channels-channels I didnt even know where out there! ALl work in the house now too, tho I do have to adjust the rabbit ears on certain channels. I get 2 out of the 3 major networks! YAY! and the one I dont get I dont really want. The picture is VERY CLEAR and pretty-makes my big TV look sick! It comes with a nifty little remote WITH BATTERIES (thats nice of them) and a car charger too!-and cords so you can hook right to your cable or sat. box.-No power? Plug it in to your cig liter.! The only bad things I can say are the antenna it comes with-CHUCK IT-its worthless. When you change channels sometimes you have to give them a minute to come in-its not INSTANT like analog. If they dont come in all u have to do is move the antenna. Now the inst. book. A.) Dont even bother reading it. B.) If you do be prepared for one of those BADLY translated Chinese to English deals-its rather comical but not very helpful. If it wasnt for the antenna, not being able to purchase a seperate back up battery and the poorly written inst. manual, I’d give it 5 stars. Minus those I can only muster a 4, but Im very happy with it, esp. considering my remote and rural location and now I dont think I ll be getting a converter box.

I have been looking for a product just like this all over stores and on the net, I live in Texas and in the DFW area and we get alot of storms out here and not to long ago we were in the dark under tornado watch and we didn’t know what was going on until we heard the sirens going off thats the reason I got this tv. First we saw in a few shoppers/store ads like Jcpenny’s and Fry’s had two tv’s like this they look so rinky dinky and not worth the money. So i keep looking around and this one looks so nice and it looked like a normal flat screen tv bought 2 of them one for me and one for my mother both picked up over 30 channels on the scan. It looks amazing the quality is just as i expected. As for the comments on here of not getting any channels I guess it really depends where you live because I got all of them including HD channels in my area. Well worth the money and recommended it to the rest of my famil!!

This television is so-so. Simply that. It serves its purpose as a basic TV. I’m surprised that it has gotten such positive reviews here. Haier brand is a lower end brand based in China, so don’t expect their TV’s to be top-of-the-line. They are of sufficient quality, but surely not of excellent quality.
This TV has a very limited viewing angle and can really only be viewed clearly head on. I went to go lie down in front of this television and couldn’t clearly see the picture because of how limited the viewing angle was. When it comes to sound quality, this TV’s is not as crisp and robust as I would have preferred. There’s also a slight delay in changing channels and turning the TV on/off, which may be mildly annoying if you’re impatient.
If you can deal with these issues, you’ll probably be satisfied with this TV. Like I said, it’s a TV which will serve a basic purpose, so if you plan on putting this in a bathroom or kitchen you’ll probably be fine.
UPDATE: It’s now April 1st and I’ve had the television for a little over two months now. Just wanted to update my review to say that the DVD player will not play DVDs anymore. After just two months. If you want a TV that can actually play DVDs, don’t waste your money on this piece of junk!

This is a substandard product in every way. Tinny sound, lack of contrast, poor picture quality and a poorly designed remote.

Pay attention to the viewing angle, this one is very narrow and really only usefull for direct straight on viewing. I returned the item due to needing something with a larger viewing angle.

We (TTI-Blakemore) purchase 20-22 TVs per year and this was a pretty good buy for the money. We let the first one we opened, run for 7 days and nights and it passed with flying colors.
The Haier LCD TV makes the best use of space I’ve seen. The front is nearly all screen.

The Haier brand is new to me but now a favorite. My first Haier TV was a 7inch for the kitchen-also 4 stars. The Haier 26″ with DVD is a good bet for a bedroom. I especially like the swivel base not found on other brands. The remote is friendly and the controls on the TV are in easy reach on the side of the TV. The sound is good and changing channels is almost instant. My husband compared the picture quality to a Sharp TV of the same size and thought the Sharp was “sharper”. But the picture is very good for a small bedroom and the other features convinced me to keep the Haier.

I found amazon to be the best reliable source to get the product from & when I began my price search the one with the most competitive price. Got what I ordered in good condition.

I’ve had this TV/DVD Combo for over two months, and I am very pleased with it. The picture is great, and I like the way the DVD operates. The only thing that is slightly annoying is the complicated remote. The price was great, just under $400, and there isn’t a better bargain out there.

The TV arrived and was easy to set up with my TIVO. Within two days the on/off switch stoped working. The remote nor the botton on the TV would work. I called the customer service for Haier and was told that it was a holiday (Presidents Day) and they would call me back the next day to let me know when someone would pick the TV up. No one called for 2 days so I called again. They said they were having trouble finding a dealer near me and would call me back. After three more days I plugged the TV back in just to see if I could get it to come on. Sure enough it did. I guess it had to reset itself. I still have not heard a word from Haier. I hope it continues to work as apparently Haier has no customer service.

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1LSS1FOR6QK6Q This is my video review of the haier 26 inch lcd tv. ITs not a bad tv at all. Its cheap and its also a name brand tv unlike dynex and insignia and element which are sold at best buy and crap out in less then a year. I suggest you consumers to pick up this tv. I purchased this tv for 355 dollars from amazon. Picture is great, colors and vibrant and fluid. Video games, movies, pictures look clean and crisp. Dont wait buy Haier 26 inch lcd today!

After searching the web for a 26″ TV from the well known Japanese and Korean brands I found that all these TV’s are made in China anyway, so I figured, “Why not buy from the source?” Haier is a huge Chinese company, more known for washers, dryers, and refrigerators than electronics, but thoroughly reputable and their 26″ TV was $150-$200 less than the same size Japanese or Korean models. The TV arrived on time and I was pleased with the appearance… sleek and well finished. The setup was easy and I was watching in 10 minutes. The remote is not complicated and logical. The picture is superb with beautiful color rendition and good visibility from the sides. The audio is good for the small speakers. DVD hookup was easy. This is a very good TV for the money.

I picked this product because of its good reviews and features. It arrived timely in apparently new condition, although the DVD player did not work properly–after playing any number of new and used DVD brand discs for about 10 minutes it would make a snapping sound and shut the power off. Then if the set was turned back on and disc was restarted it played properly. The amazon vendor Computer Brain promised to mail me a new set as soon as I sent in a tracking number for shipping the item back. 10 days later I had heard and received nothing and when I wrote I was told it was on back order. They estimated a new set would be shipped by 2/18/09 or I could have a refund. I asked for a certain shipping date by 2/20/09 or a refund confirmation. It is now 2/28/09 and again I have gotten no new set shipped and no refund or communication. I cannot recommend purchasing the Haier set or the vendor Computer Brain. If I get a prompt refund or a working set I might say otherwise–I liked the set when it was working. The only problem was the highest volume setting was still quite low to hear.

Awesome tv/dvd combo. Perfect for the bedroom…sleek and unimposing. Menus are a little tricky to navigate at first, but you only need to get into them for fine tuning of what channels you would like displayed, adjusting the volume for certain channels, etc. Love it!

I love the convenience of this machine! We have it at my husband’s office for the kids to watch while we work. It’s great! The only thing that I dont like is that the DVD player portion is much touchier than the one we have at home. It will freeze and turn off (I believe this is either because it is overheating, or because the disks have scratches… but they are disks that play fine at home). I would buy this same type of product again, but I would try a different brand next time.
